Feel-good Factor!

A short post ahead..
All of us certainly need some change in life to feel good about ourself.. atleast I do! The same monotonous life bores me to death. Not that I want something adventurous daily :D
But there are few small things that take your happiness level a little higher than how you feel on the usual days.. And these things can be anything, not necessarily something big!
For me, it can be..
A new haircut
A new recipe turning out great
A solution to a peice of code pending since long time! :P
Remembering a hostel incident that was long forgotten
Unintentionally hearing someone saying something good about you
Finishing work and realising you have 3 hours of nothing-to-do time left in office

Some of these things happened with me today! :D
So what are your feel-good factors?

Arey yaaron.. Dosti..

Friends.. Dost.. Pals.. Buddies.. all these words itself are so friendly! A tonic to bring an instant smile if you think about some wonderful moments spent with your friends!

“Teri har ek burai pe daante wo dost
gam ki ho dhoop to saya bane tera wo dost
naache bhi wo teri khushi mein…”

These words truly define selfless friendship and I find myself lucky to proudly say that I have such friends. And more than that, when I hear these lines, I cannot think of just a single person who fits in this.. rather theres a whole bunch!
Though I dont meet these friends very often like before but the distance could never create a gap between us. Even after we meet after months, the connection is still there.. just like before! And I know the reason for it.. thats because I meet my friends with the same natural self everytime. So neither we change, nor the connection! And I know its the case with almost everyone reading this!

I was just talking to one of my friends online on the topic that is most spoken n enjoyed.. yes you guessed it right.. memories of hostel! (I am not writing about it here else this will go on and I will stop writing only when my fingers start aching :D ) While the conversation was on, I could clearly differentiate my way of talking to her! I was typing without thinking twice.. n that happens very rarely these days. Things are definitely different than what they were before few years but one thing that didnt change is the feeling that u still have those crazy bunch of people by your side, no matter how far they are physically!

I guess you all can understand the whole point of writing this post.. yes.. I am missing my friends! :(

BANG!!!

Back wid a BANG?? Well.. not literally :) Yeah I know I’m posting after many days.. but u know I’ve got married n all, so I guess thats the best excuse I can give! :)

Now.. the actual reason of not posting since so long was I had taken a vow (of course in my mind) that I wont post anything before I complete the X task! :D

No no.. Its not that I’ve completed the task! But that doesn’t even mean that I’m no more interested.. well.. the efforts are still going on :P

Just felt like writing something.. direct dil se.. So here it goes!

Now that I’ve been married for more than a month n everything seems to be all happy-happy.. at some point of time, I do long for things that have changed these days.. very simple things like…

  • The long chats wid my bro after dinner.. and by long I mean really long ones.. lasting till around 2 or 3 o’clock in the night (or morning.. whatever!!)
  • The sudden plans of staying over at a friend’s place n chatting on absolutely any useless stuff on Earth!
  • The weekend shopping (the grocery n stuff!) along wid my bro..
  • The sunday afternoon ice-creams with one of my cousin n swap..
  • Breakfast + Lunch combination on a weekend (yeah.. we used to get up that late! ;) )
  • Maggiii.. Numerous recipes of maggi n wierd combinations to eat along wid it..

Well I can really go on n on.. but I guess I’ll keep things for upcoming posts too.. :)

Hoping to post soon and finish the X task too! :D

Satisfaction – On the job (?)

Everyone reading this post, first answer this:

How many of you are really satisfied with your job?

Okay okay.. I know none of you would at once say.. “Of course!” We have our usual rantings about our managers, the kind of work we do, no appreciation or recognition n so on. Well I’m not gonna write about all this, coz if I get started.. this post can go on endlessly :)

Anyways, the reason why I felt like putting some post was this guy working in my office canteen.. He truly represents the saying “Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work”

See him anytime of the day, he’ll be there working happily with full enthusiasm.. Be it serving food, cleaning tables or whatever! Just looking at him, anyone can make out that this guy simply enjoys his work! He does all the routine work with utmost zeal, simultaneously whistling or cracking some jokes etc. We even try to guess by talking among ourselves.. “aaj shayad usko salary hike mili hogi” or “aaj shayad usko appreciation mila hoga” but thats his mood while working daily! And to tell you truly, after looking at him, I simply forget my tirade (atleast for sometime) wondering what is it in his job that makes this man feel so happy about it!  But Still unanswered but I’m sure of asking him oneday!

Well just hoping that this continues for him.. atleast there is someone whom I know who is happy with his work! For others, try n figure out what you really want.. (cant advise anything more as even I’m trying to find the solution :D )

Party time!!

Last friday all of us.. the whole office gang gathered that Teju’s place for the cook+eat dinner party n unquestionably we enjoyed… BIGTIME!!

The best part was seeing even guys helping in the cooking spree!! Check this out :)

After everyone trying their best to help, the food was definitely made delicious and mouth-watering!

So here I present.. the outcome of the whole rampage!!

Innovative Punishment

Yet another super cool punishment for someone who breaks traffic rules! One of the guy who didnt follow the traffic rule and offended a traffice cop was given a simply laborious penance.. n that is.. he would have to man the traffic near Senapati Bapat Road every morning from 9 am to 11 am for continuously 5 days! Cops said he has been awarded the punishment so that he can understand how difficult it is to man the traffic in Pune city.

I am in complete accord with this step as I have to face this daily traffic trouble for almost an hour one way! People simply ignore the traffic signals as if the lights are there as a part of beautification of the road. I agree even I get tempted to break the signal as I see others do that.. but yea I try my best even though thousands of horns blow away my ears!

How much ever I write about Pune traffic, it really isnt sufficient. I can go on n on.. but to put it short, all I can say is, please FOLLOW TRAFFIC RULES! It is definitely better than cursing it all the time..

Happy commuting! :)

Aaluchya wadya

Another entry in the “Foooooood” category! :)

I made aaluchya wadya this weekend when I was left with nothing else to do! So thought why not give it a try.. coz I simply love this delicacy!

Happy Dushera!!

Happy Dushera to everyone!!

Well from now onwards, I would be posting the pics of food cooked by me.. Hope u all like it..

Squabble at the Petrol Pump

These petrol pump guys really get on to my nerves sometimes! I dont know why these people think that  their customers either have ample money or are bigtime fools.. or may be both! They think they can fool you with such an ease and you won’t even shout back at them even if you realise that the business done there was totally unfair!

I have experienced this so many times and everytime I have this kind-of-fight at the petrol pump, I go all red with anger. Initially I never understood all this but with time and experience I can literally list down all their tricks!

Just today in the morning, I asked the petrol pump guy to fill petrol worth Rs. 150. The other guy who collects money started involving me in conversation like “do have change” n stuff like that which certainly diverted my eyes from the reading. Within about 3 seconds I could see Rs. 50 flashing on the display. I said “I asked for 150!” Innocently he said, “Sorry Madam, I heard just 50!” and filled petrol worth Rs 100. Experiencing similar situation before I said “I want the petrol worth the money I am paying! Dont even try to fool me !” He finally filled another litre after hearing from me that I am not going unless I get the right amount!

This situation definitely deserves this old n famous dialogue regularly heard from uncle and aunties “Its not about 50 or 100 rupees.. its about PRINCIPLES!!” Yeah.. I totally agree.. I accept these guys are poor and need some more money to earn their living but fooling people is certainly not the right means of making money.

So all I can do is tell everyone reading this post to be alert at the petrol pumps n fight to get things worth your hard-earned money!

Lack of Impetus

I sometimes wonder what it actually takes to complete what you decide! And I end up getting only one answer.. Motivation.. Impetus, some driving force that would push you towards your goal!

Now, since about 1.5 years I’ve been thinking of completing an X task.. And mind you, all the attempts were actually sincere.. all 7 times! :D And my usual dialogue, which even my colleagues have started making fun of is “Its by this month end.. or never!!” I have said this for atleast last 6 months as far as I remember!

And yes, what i wanted to convey by giving all the stats is, there is a serious lack of driving force. Now if you think that making fun by colleagues n all should act as motivation then I’m sorry, it really isn’t!

Probably the following could act as one:

1. A junior of mine decides to complete the same X task after me and finishes before me (Yeah.. ego in action!)

2. Someone says.. aah forget it.. u can never do it! (Where’s my self-respect??)

3. I’m given an official deadline (this is gonna work 100%.. Software Engineers afterall ;) )

4. This task acts as a bottleneck in my promotion! (OMG!! As if the bottlenecks are few!)

5. I get a weird (read filmy) dream where in everyone’s circling around my head saying “finish X, finish X!” (Jud kidding :D )

But now its high time I think (Well this thought has come many times though).. So on ur marks.. get set.. n GO!!

Wish me luck.. :)
